The Rays and Marlins met Saturday in a classic pitchers duel behind the pitching of Sam Cranston and Zack Danz. After five innings the Marlins had a 1-0 lead. In the top of the sixth Anthony Cimeno hit a two out single to right to give the Rays a 2-1 lead. However in the bottom half of the inning Ben Tillman countered with a two out single to left scoring Cranston and a sliding Jeremy Regan ahead of John Morris' throw to the plate. It was a strong defensive game by both teams.

The Oriole pitchers continued rolling along, allowing only three runs in a 7-3 victory over the Marlins. Cory Medeiros was strong, striking out six in two scoreless innings. The Marlins battled but rallies were defeated by two putouts at the pate, an infield double play and an outfield assist by Medeiros. Jared Regan led the Marlin defense with three putouts and three assists. The teams meet again on Saturday.

John Morris also collected two hits and pitched well. Zak Danz anchored a very strong Rays defense. The hit of the day belonged to Valentino Major, who crushed a home run to give the Twins an early 1-0 lead. Val also struck out five Rays in two innings on the hill. Twin Joe Serpa reached base twice and played well behind the plate. The Twins and Rays face each other again Saturday at 2:00 at Nunes.

The Orioles topped the Marlins on Saturday in a come from behind victory. The Marlins jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first but the O's chipped away over the next few innings. With the Marlins ahead 6-5 in the bottom of the sixth Jack Murray delivered a two run, walk off double. Cathal Robinson and Cory Medeiros also had big days for the O's, each going two for two. Jeremy Regan was the Marlins' offensive star, with two hits and two runs scored.

The Marlin pitching combination of Sam Cranston and Jeremy Regan limited the Rockies to two runs over the final three innings to stifle their comeback. Bresnick and Bennett combined on a sparkling 5-3 putout in the bottom of the fifth.

Jake Howell and Gavin Leuenberger combined to go five for five at the plate with eight rbis. Sam Cranston quieted the Twins bats over the last two and a third innings, backed by nice defensive plays from Owen Bresnick, Jeremy Regan and Jared Regan. Benny Binder reached base three times and scored twice for the Twins. Val Major threw out a potential base stealer at third with a bee-bee.

The battle for first place lived up to its hype, as both teams exhibited sharp pitching, tight defense and timely hitting. Curtis Fournier led the Rockies with eleven K's over four and a third innings while also homering in the second. The trio of Hollis Kelly, Cory Medeiros and Jack Murray, channeling the early 1970s Baltimore Orioles, held the high powered Rockies offense in check. The heavy weight rematch will be this Saturday.

Advancing to their third consecutive final, the O's got a mid-game pep talk from former Orioles Dillon McAndrews and Jacob Gundersen which helped new Orioles Ned Smiley and Liam McCarthy produce key run scoring singles. For the Rays, Jason Davey scored three runs and Patrick Dutton scorched an opposite field double. In the end, All-Star Hollis Kelly set down the Rays 1-2-3, and the Orioles started making plans to defend their title.

The Twins played excellent defense and on offense Val Major hit a ball into deep center for 2RBI's in the 3rd inning and drove in another in the 5th. August Pizzanno also contributed with 2RBI's in the 1st and 5th innings. On the Rockies side Curtis Fournier held the Twins at six runs in the 6th inning with 3 strikeouts. Garret Broadley sealed their fate with a RBI in the bottom of the 6th to win the game 7 to 6 to propel the Rockies to the Minor League Championship game on Saturday.
